When my little sister Michelle was born, I was 5 1/2 years old and my mom told me how important I would be in her life. As the big sister, I was to teach her and guide her--like a second mom.
Well, somewhere along the next few years, I heard that a child's personality was formed and solidified by their 5th birthday. 
As she reached that milestone, I remember feeling sad and guilty that I had really screwed up this poor kid!!!
Now looking at our lives together, it doesn't seem like I messed up as bad as I feared. She not only considered me a great big sister, I recognize that she is pretty awesome too!
