Listen "Kingdom Hearts"
Episode Synopsis
One of the most misunderstood and misquoted verses of the Sermon on the Mount is found in Matthew 5:17. Jesus says, “Don’t think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.” (Matthew 5:17, CSB).
Why did Jesus feel the need to remind people that He had not come to abolish the Law? Because He knew that in light of what he was about to say it would sound to many as if he had come to do exactly that.
