I was reading some people’s comments this week about their “no need to go church” attitudes and beliefs. Some were saying that they do not have to go to a church to be a Christian. True! One person said that he could worship God in places other than at a church. True! Another said that it was the same old same old every week. Unfortunately too true! There were many but the saddest was the person who said that they just didn’t get anything out of it any more. True for them!

The truth of the matter for when we make the effort to meet with others at a public church service is that it is more about what we give to God than what we are expecting Him to give to us. Solomon points out to us in Ecclesiastes 5:17 some “pre New Testament Church” attitudes to develop and maintain when we come before God, wherever we are.
