Listen "Episode 16 - Alicia Woods"
Episode Synopsis
Alicia Woods started working in the mining and supply service sector over 20 years ago as part her family's business. She started in administration and sales and over 15 years, worked her way to General Manager. Motivated by her own experiences on site, she set out to improve the underground mining experience for women and designed the covergall (female coverall). In 2014, she successfully pitched her business on Dragon's Den (like Shark Tank in the US). The Covergalls' workwear line has since grown and has evolved to be so much more than a workwear company. Covergalls now exists to conquer three main pillars: Health and Safety, Diversity and Inclusion, and Education and Advocacy. Alicia has appeared at speaking engagements across North America and is focused on motivating and educating her audience. She works to inspire, encourage, and equip the women breaking barriers and challenges companies to be a part of the change by working toward increasing diversity and creating inclusive work environments. In this episode we talk about being empowered by the right "uniform", the importance of our father's encouragement, and how working to build our own dreams is paving the way for others to build theirs.
