Listen "40: Ida Nilsson on her TGC Win, Resilience and Freedom on the Trails"
Episode Synopsis
So happy to welcome today’s guest Ida Nilsson to the podcast. She grew up in a family of athletes, where movement and sport were part of life, and fun. From a young age, she embraced track, cross country, and athletics as a career—until an injury forced her to pause and consider different paths. Eventually, the call to move fast came back—and at 35, she stepped into trail running. Ida has since run—and won—some of the most demanding trail races out there, recently placing 6th at the iconic 100-mile Western States, and taking first place at this year’s TransGrancanaria 82km after a thrilling women’s race. We discuss this latest experience, the evolution of competition and her relationship with it, and what she is looking forward to next.We also talk about what keeps her grounded and motivated, as well as her work with Moon Valley, the company she co-founded.This is a story of resilience, and reconnecting with freedom through the trails. Hope you enjoy the episode!Subscribe to "She Trails Podcast" for future episodes, where we dive into women trail runner stories, and get inspired to explore new paths and seek our own adventures, whatever they may be.
