Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote in Life Together: “It is grace, nothing but grace, that we are allowed to live in community with Christian brothers and sisters.” The final chapter in Paul’s letter to the church in Rome highlights that often forgotten truth. In just a few verses, Paul sends greetings and thanks to dozens of people he knew by name, family, and ministry alliance. He worked hard at building and enjoying community. That was one of the secrets to his fruitfulness and the means God used to bless his work.
