Listen "Lowriderz - Jungle War EP (Serial Killaz Recordings minimix)"
Episode Synopsis
Junglists worldwide rejoice as Serial Killaz’s release schedule for 2018 is ridiculously heavy. To add further heat to the fire, Lowriderz bring forth ‘Jungle War’. This EP is already causing a storm on dubplate with its varied hard hitting flavours doing all kinds of things to the dancefloor. Murderation.
‘Jungle War’ kicks off proceedings with cinematic intro vibes, orchestra hits and filtered out breakbeats. Heading straight for the drop and you’re already into a full between battle of electronic basslines, storming kickdrums and hard slapping snares. Rough, tough and dangerous from the outset.
MC Steppa Style brings his natural talent to ‘Like This’ which could easily be at home in a huge aircraft hangar filled with 1,000’s of ravers circa 1995. It’s an much a flexed out roller as it is a real head nodder. Literally flooding with good vibes.
‘Sound D Pot’ takes things straight to the murkiest of corners with some real distorted bassline that haunts this riddim like an obsessive poltergeist. It’s one hell of a heavy track that begs attention, smashes the hell out of the makeshift basement sound systems and tears down festival security barriers.
Relaxing the vibe a little with ‘Spy’. A nod to ‘94 with mashed up breaks, sublow bass and an array of filtered effects. A great interlude if you’re one for playing a collection of tracks in the order intended or if not, a cracking jungle riddim for the crates!
‘Dose’ continues with the jungle vibe, ramps it up a notch and adds some real head nodding beats that deliver like nothing else. The slight additions of percussion shots really adds to the mood and have been cleverly combined to take this tune up another level.
MC Smoky Dog closes the EP with ‘Monsta’, a credible take on the Serial Killaz original vibe and a worthy anthem to anyone's record box this summer. One minute you’re treated to reggae infused melodies, the next some roughneck jump up basslines. It’s a fine ending to this huge EP from Lowriderz.
Smashed out the park once again. Hold tight the original junglists, the new school jump up heads and everyone in between - this one you!
