The racist assumption is a marginalized group would be automatically unqualified to attend an elite college without it. Affirmative action doesn't elevate unqualified people it levels the playing field. Then we look at Christian Nationalists who use the argument that they must save the children when targeting gender affirming care and Drag Queens, while ignoring religious exemptions to child abuse and vaccination laws that can cause real harm.
