Listen "Trailer: Scripture Untangled | S3 Ep 7 | Mark Petersen | Walking the Camino"
Episode Synopsis
It's very simple. You know, you don't...you only...you're walking with everything you have is on your back in a backpack, and it's just a simple life. And I love being reminded that we don't need all the stuff that we have in our lives. You know, to exist. We need very little and to be reminded of that in a pilgrimage is really worthwhile. One of the Scriptures that means the most to me is from Lamentations 3 where God's mercies are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness and you know, walking the Camino is a great reminder to me of that. Starting fresh, encountering obstacles, encountering defeats, encountering struggles with Jesus by our side. His mercies are new every morning, you know, and He gives us enough that we need for each day and we can start again.---Today’s guest is Mark Petersen, interviewed by Lorna Dueck. Mark Petersen is the CEO of Stronger Philanthropy, and he wrote a book, Love Giving Well: The Pilgrimage of Philanthropy about the spiritual lessons he's learned throughout his life and during his month-long pilgrimage along the Camino del Norte and Camino Primitivo routes in Spain. Mark offers a window into how people of faith struggle with giving, humanizes the mystique of a philanthropist, and provides tools to be both shrewd and faithful from a biblical perspective.
