🟦Welcome to SciSection! Joining us in today's interview is Dr. Mohit Bhandari, associate chair of research at McMaster University’s Department of Surgery and Canada Research Chair in Evidence-based Orthopedics.🧪🧠! Dr. Bhandari currently serves as Professor of Surgery and University Scholar at McMaster University. He is the Associate Chair of Research in the Department of Surgery and holds a Canada Research Chair in Surgical Outcomes. He received his Masters Degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics from McMaster University and his PhD Degree from Sweden. He is recognized a global leader in evidence-based surgery and orthopaedic research receiving the fields highest awards including the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Medal and the Kappa Delta Award (twice). He has been acknowledged among the top 10 most cited orthopaedic fracture surgeons in the world. To this end, Dr. Bhandari has published and/or presented over 1000 papers and has lead edited several of his field’s major research textbooks, including the upcoming second edition of “Evidence-Based Medicine”. Dr. Bhandari’s commitment to evidence-based practice, high quality globally relevant research and translation of evidence to patient care has garnered him induction into the Order of Ontario, the Canadian Orthopaedic Association’s Award of Merit, McMaster University’s Distinguished Alumni Award and the Order of Canada.
