A master thief, an escaped criminal, and an alcoholic former policeman walk into a jewelry store. No it’s not a bad joke- it’s The Red Circle. This week Leo and Charles are talking about Jean-Pierre Melville’s classic. For The Vault Leo takes us back to 1985 with Richard Donner’s adventure with misfits The Goonies. Charles is excited to take a wormhole to his Vault pick of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. But the main take is 1970’S The Red Circle or as the French say, Le Cercle Rouge. It’s a classic for sure, where Leo and Charles discuss the similarities it has to Rififi, using a marksmen to disarm the security, and the necessity of having a “fence” in on the heist. It’s a lot of fun chatter when the movies are this good and Scene Stealers is happy to hit 40 episodes…Give a listen.
