Listen "Episode 37: Special Podcast Young Activists discuss Black Lives Matter"
Episode Synopsis
Dayna Halprin, Cristal Staten and Juanita Sarmiento have recently gotten to know each other very well. They may have not known each other before, they may come from very different backgrounds, but now they are united in a common cause.
The three young people have become very involved with local Black Lives Matter protests that have been happening around the region. Not only are they attending these events, but also organizing their own.
After the former Village of Monticello Acting DPW Superintendent Raymond Jones was caught on camera using racial slurs, they quickly rallied together and organized a protest in Monticello, where Staten was a main speaker.
