This is the squadron that my son John was a part of. The Purple Foxes are famous for flying in to rescue a platoon of Marines who were stuck under heavy fire during the Vietnam War. When they landed a soldier remarked “We thought you flyboys didn’t give a shit!” To which the crew chief said “We give a shit.” That is the Purple Foxes motto and it is painted on all of their aircraft. They are the only squadron allowed to have a curse word on their aircrafts. My son was hand picked to be a part of The Purple Foxes and he couldn’t have been prouder and neither could I. Donate to the Captain John J.
