I see this song as a plea for the overwhelming presence of God in hearing prayers and our heart desires. Even as Jesus himself taught us to pray in distinctive steps.
The desperation in waiting to be with God,in his presence at end of the road or work with God ever step of the way consciously keep one awake always remembering his glory.
The hard times and battle,the fight and daily struggles for survival for God in striving to know him and earnest desire to be at his feet.
Many times I imagine if God has not been answering my prayers how would it have been but his mercy and grace has made kept him as a faithful God.
