You are called to be the light. This teaching is part 3 in the “Let there be Light” series. Come experience the book of Genesis through the lens of the Light. The Lord is calling you to connect with Him in a deep and meaningful way through the Light.
God told Abram to number the stars.
“5 And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” 6 And he believed the LORD; and he reckoned it to him as righteousness.” (Genesis 15:5-6 RSV)
The Jewish people, the descendants of Abram, are compared to the stars. Likewise, we are all like shining stars. We are to rise above the depravity of the world. We can exert a positive influence upon the world through God’s Word.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to be the light.
“14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid.” (Matthew 5:14 RSV)
