Children born to Christians are not Christian at birth. ON the contrary, they are born sinners who must be born again of the Spirit, like everyone else who is born a sinner. As for the Children, we know they do not need to be taught sin, biblically they need to be taught the instruction, Gospel, fear, and discipline of the Lord because they are born absent of all those virtues and beliefs. By birth, they are selfish, undisciplined, ungodly, and the only restraint upon their often murderous hearts is their practical size and physical capabilities. A Christian family and good Christian church are the greatest means of grace unto hearing the Gospel and being saved. And on and on the promises of the new covenant flow to our children’s ears and enculturate our children’s lives! We tell our children to receive these promises by faith, just like Abraham received them, just like Moses, just like the Apostle Paul, just like all the saints old and new, just like their mommy and daddy received them, just like their Pastor and their friends or siblings who have joined the church membership.. the promises are theirs to receive by faith!
