Listen "An Abandoned Companion"
Episode Synopsis
This was a talk presented by Sheikh Sajid Umar at Muntadah al-Islaami in London - UK, 2013 and is based upon a verse in the Quran in Surah Al-Furqaan.
"The Messenger said, 'O my Lord, my people have taken this Quran as something mahjoor (abandoned, or to be avoided)."
And thus Sheikh Sajid explains the importance of protecting ourselves from ever falling into this category by discussing the status and honour that we should afford the Book of Allah in our lives.
We are encouraged to be people that ponder and deliberate and reflect over the ayaat in the Quran and to be consistent with it, and we emulate our Messenger (saw) such that our character becomes Al-Quran.
