Send us a textDuring this weeks podcast we discuss what we can learn from the early church members and leaders.  The Lord emphasized that all things must be done in order.  There were a couple of instances specifically as it relates to these sections that brought about these revelations.  Oliver Cowdery challenged a portion of the revelation received by Joseph Smith Jr. on the article and covenants of The Church of Christ after he had been given the assignment to prepare the document.  He took offense that Joseph used parts of his writings and combined it with a revelation that Joseph had received and presented it before the church.  Oliver's pride seeped in but later repented when discussing it with Joseph.  Hiram Page found a stone that he thought was a seer stone in which he was receiving revelation for the church.  The acceptance of the revelations was more widespread than what Joseph originally thought.  He directed Oliver Cowdery to discuss this with Hiram Page and correct him in his errors, which Oliver did.  The revelations were not accepted by the church and the revelation on the proper order through the prophet to the church was given.  Satan takes partial truth and makes it seem all bright and shiny.  To Heidi's point, he makes it so bright that it becomes blinding that we cannot see.  On the other hand, the Lord's light is illuminating so that we can see.  Be on the look out for imitators of truth.  Satan is trying to deceive us all.  All things must be done in order.Hang in there like a hair in a biscuit and keep on strivin'!!Support the showThanks for listening!
