On Sunday, Alex posed this question: How do you have a Spirit-filled and led people in a structure of church, authority, Scripture and interpretation, without quenching the activity of the Holy Spirit?
We learn in 1 Corinthians 12 that the gifts of the Spirit are there for the unifying and sustaining of God’s people in the age of the Spirit. 
As we operate in the gifts, we discern together from our shared submission to the Holy Spirit what builds up in love and reveals Christ. Because we are humans, this will inevitably be messy, but we need the gifts and should humbly seek them out together.
