Listen "1532: Mt Barker Mayor on Streaming Meetings & Seniors Online Initiative"
Episode Synopsis
A push to make Mount Barker Council meetings more accessible has been delayed.
At this month’s Council meeting, five councillors voted in favor of live streaming audio and video of full meetings from April onwards, while five voted against.
Mayor Ann Ferguson had the deciding vote for the matter, opting to maintain the 'status quo' in the interests of privacy for some in-confidence matters, with a view to revisiting the vote in future.
Mayor Ferguson joins Jennie Lenman to explain her position and talk about one-on-one 'Be Connected' sessions at Mount Barker Library, making it easier for seniors to become connected, active and safe in the online world.
