Today, Darren is in Flateyri, in the Westfjords.
The Old Bookstore in Flateyri (https://flateyribookstore.com/) is the oldest original store in Iceland. It sells beautiful old Icelandic books by weight as well as new publications, local products and luxury goods.
However, it is also where you can see a genuine Icelandic house, unchanged since 1950 - the former home of Jón and Guðrún. They lived in the apartment from the year 1915 onwards, and nothing has been altered. Jón and Guðrún were part of the bookstore family who have owned the home and shop for generations.
Darren meets Eyþór Jóvinsson at the store, for a look at the books - and into the past.
