In this two-part series, registered dietitian, Karen Bailey, talks about the importance of the dietitian/physician partnership and the role nutrition plays in addressing the medical needs of patients. Bailey is also a certified diabetes educator. She’s joined by Heritage College faculty member and researcher Elizabeth Beverly, Ph.D throughout the two-part series. The importance of diabetes education in Appalachia is also discussed.
