The disciples were gathered together, frightened and confused, when suddenly the risen Jesus appeared among them and said, “Peace to you.” Startled, they thought they were seeing a ghost—but Jesus reassured them, showing His hands and feet, even eating in front of them to prove He was truly alive.“Why are you troubled?” Jesus asked. It was a question not just for those first disciples, but for all who wrestle with fear, doubt, and uncertainty. The resurrection changes everything. The One who was crucified now stands victorious over sin and death. Because He lives, we no longer have reason to live in fear.Jesus reminded His followers that His suffering, death, and resurrection fulfilled everything written in Scripture—and that they were now witnesses, called to proclaim repentance and forgiveness of sins to all nations. That same mission continues today. No matter what trials or troubles surround us, our peace is secure in the risen Christ.The empty tomb means our hope is full. The resurrected Jesus calls us to live with courage, to proclaim His forgiveness, and to rest in His unshakable peace.
