He commanded his servants to go and obtain the vessels of gold and silver from storage. Then Belshazzar defiled God's holy vessels with worship to false gods of gold, silver, brass, iron, wood, and stone. A finger appeared and wrote on the wall. Daniel prophesied the meaning of the message. Belshazzar's kingdom was divided and taken from him that night and he was killed. Darius, the Mede, took over the kingdom.
