Revelation 2:18-19
Thyatira, located southeast of Pergamos, was known for its military presence and commerce, particularly in purple dye. It was steeped in pagan worship, notably of the sun god Tyrimnas, depicted as a warrior. Contrasting with this, Jesus presents Himself with flaming eyes and feet of bronze, symbolizing divine authority and judgment. While Pergamos tolerated false teachings, Thyatira actively propagated them, leading its followers into spiritual adultery by prioritizing personal gains over genuine devotion to Christ.
