God is compassionate and ready to forgive. He knows our weakness and remembers that we are dust, yet His mercy holds back the judgement we deserve. His goodness is not permission to continue in sin but and invitation to return to Him with all our heart. The Lord who judges sin is the same Lord who delights in showing mercy to those who repent and His forgiveness.
