Episode Synopsis

Welcome to DAY 8. Today, we are repenting on behalf of our nation and praying against the spirit of addiction - drugs, pornography, food, social media, etc. Addiction is just one more way that the enemy gets his hooks into people...all people. Any time we are experiencing addiction, we are in the midst of idolatry, placing whatever our addiction is first and foremost in our hearts and our actions. Exodus 20:3-5 NLT - “You must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me." Romans 12:2 NLT - "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." James 1:27 NLT - "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." 1 Corinthians 10:14 -  "So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols." Colossians 3:5 NLT - "So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world." There is a different focus for each of the 35 days.
