Aaron Walker started working at 13, cleaning up a pawn shop for $1.70 per hour. At 18, with two partners, he started his own pawn business. At 21, another. Then more. At 27, he sold the business and retired. He didn’t like it, and went back into business. After a personal tragedy, Aaron put his professional life on hold for five years of counseling and “getting my legs back under me.” Then he was back at it, in construction, until he retired (again) at 50.
