With a few bucks finally coming from the previous release, and digital
distribution finally a possibility if you knew a friendly ISP and administrator to give you a then princely 100mb of storage space, Serpent was a return to Chicago-era form, complete with the last track recorded before getting the hell out of Dodge. If I knew then what I do now, I'd probably have substantially reworked a couple of songs on this album. Nah, I'd have kept it as it was and recorded more. It's what I do.

Still, "Apocalypse weaving" firmly establishes why I don't live in major urban areas any more; the stress, congestion, the people, all crushing together just waiting to be set off by any event, good or bad.
