Jacob acquired the birthright blessing from his brother Esau, then went away to find a wife, and when he came home many years later he had four wives, twelve sons, and a new name: Israel. That's the basic story, but do we understand the fine points? More importantly, do we understand the prophetic picture Jacob's story paints regarding God's Covenant Nation of Israel, the work of Israel's Messiah, and the redemption of all the nations?
