Jellyfish play crucial roles in marine ecosystems, providing ecosystem services often overlooked, including carbon cycling, habitat provision, and compounds with biotechnological applications. Despite their importance, understanding jellyfish mass appearances and their impacts on human activities remain limited. We interviewed Cornelia Jaspers from DTU Aqua on her experience leading the JELLY-NEXT Foresight Workshop, which aimed at bridging some important gaps.
