She is now expanding her expertise diving into the use of big data in research. She is the scientific director of a novel out-of-hospital heart scan clinic which has the triple aim of providing a clinical service to NHS patients, supporting research on point-of-care scans for early diagnosis of heart failure, and enriching the university education of healthcare professionals. Emma is part of the leadership team of the Wales National Cardiovascular Research Network.
