Listen "4: Special Guest | David Hershkovits"

Episode Synopsis

In this episode Remo and Claudia are joined by a special guest – David Hershkovits the co-founder of New York’s iconic PAPER magazine to chat about "Break the Internet", the chapter from the third (yellow) volume of REMORANDOM that tells the story of the 2014 PAPER magazine cover featuring Kim Kardashian in her oiled nakedness. The cover went viral and “broke” the Internet, or at least that part of it that included PAPER’s website. In the same conversation we got to talk about lots of other stuff.  It really gives a vivid snapshot into the culture and vibe of New York at the time: the ascendance and influence of artist Keith Haring, the subway, hip hop, punk, the Chelsea Hotel, etc.

About REMO
REMO was founded as a General Store in Sydney in 1988, and was famous for its mail order catalogues. Those catalogues were the inspiration for REMORANDOM, but this new leg of the REMO journey is not so much about selling THINGS, as it is about telling STORIES … in celebration of what’s interesting. Inspiring curious minds.
