Listen "RFP Podcast Episode #196 – Ultra Dad’s Session #7 – The Wrap Up Show"

Episode Synopsis

To start out we will ask for some forgiveness; right around minute 16:30 through 17:15 there is a delay because of some technical difficulties (aka – we are low budget 😊), so excuse us. Bryan and I are unfiltered and don’t want to mess with the authenticity of our podcasts. Full transparency, I worked on the edit and it didn’t turn out well – but hey, the rest of the show was top notch 😊!! This weeks Ultra Dad’s episode goes into the stories we had from the Aravaipa Running’s “Be Moved” virtual event for Breast Cancer Awareness. Bryan and talk about our experiences, challenges, takeaways, some funny moments and what we learned.

A big thank you to our wives’ and children for the selfless support they continue to provide us when we conduct these nonsensical journeys; to Aravaipa for putting the event together, and to all those that reached out for support and kind words while we were putting it on. A special note to all those ladies out there that have, are going through, and may have to battle breast cancer, we love you, keep moving forward, keep fighting – LFRF!

Because of some schedule challenges this week we conducted the Ultra Dad podcast in the morning so we had coffee, water, and some electrolyte fluids flowing so no beers this week……..although we were tempted 😊.

How’d we get here?

The Ultra Dad’s Podcast came from an idea Cindy Shane created. Well, she planted the idea in our head after listening to the first time Bryan was on the RFP Podcast in May 2020. There have many times over the years when we speak on the phone or in person the “we should be recording this” line comes out. Well, here we are jumping in with both feet, like we tend to do, sharing with you our perspectives on life. Let’s be candid – we are not perfect, and we fail often. Our favorite term to use is “it’s not ideal” and there have been countless times we’ve uttered, “a plan is great until you are punched in the face;” – but we do laugh a lot, at ourselves and/or each other mostly 😊. All that said, there are those brief moments where things tend to fall into place and we, somehow, make it to that finish line – as ultrarunners yes, but most importantly has husbands, fathers, friends, and human beings. We wanted to share those imperfections and those incredible moments that we’ve been fortunate enough to experience together over the last 30+ years. So, sit back, grab a cold one, and hopefully this will be another time where things fall into place.
