In this episode of the Agent-to-Agent series of the show, I speak with Melanie Ruiz, who is based in Rhode Island. Melanie is a future coffeeshop owner building a real estate business to help fund a life creating connections and community. Being a single mom of twins with a remote corporate job offered a lot of opportunity to find fun ways to work and raise kids on a tight budget. Coffeeshops provided a fun way to get the kids out of the house, with small, yummy snacks and fun crafts while Melanie could get some work done. This started the dream of creating more spaces for people and families of all types to connect with others without spending a ton of money. Coffeeshops don’t profit right away, so Melanie took her corporate sales career and decided to build a real estate business. This gives the freedom and financial structure to accomplish her dream and help others accomplish theirs. 12 years later, Melanie and her husband Damian have bought the investment property for their first coffeehouse and have started buildout. Melanie and Damian also own a contracting and remodeling business, partnering with real estate investors in the pursuit of creating long term wealth in holding and flipping real estate properties.  Who you're in business with matters!
