In the 1st century, to claim Jesus as Lord and King meant that you would not bow the knee to Caesar and the Roman Empire’s violent ways. In the 21st century, to claim Jesus as Lord and King means the same; that we as Christians, ‘little Christs’ don’t bend the knee to the ‘Caesars’ and violent empires of the current world in which we live. Jesus and Jesus alone is the one true King that rules his Kingdom with humility, love, patience, peace, and integrity.
