Listen "Key Episodes: The Twilight Zone by Charles Beaumont (1960-64)"
Episode Synopsis
This is the second of an ongoing series where Reel Deep Dive examines clusters of Twilight Zone episodes by writer. The prior installment focused on the three episodes ghostwritten by Jerry Sohl on behalf of the dying Charles Beaumont, so it felt appropriate for the follow-up to focus on the stuff Beaumont wrote himself (or, in the case of "Number 12 Looks Just Like You", an episode based on a Beaumont-penned short story that was adapted by John Tomerlin).
Ryan is once again joined by Rachel and Sylvan for a discussion about this enduring sci-fi anthology program. In addition to "Number 12 Looks Just Like You", the dialogue touches upon "The Howling Man" and "The Jungle". Talking points for the thematic portion of the chat include colonialism, conformity, nature vs. nurture, the convenience of Satan, and whether art is lessened when it is overtly didactic.
