We ought to find hope in the fact that both personally in our own lives and on a cosmic scale, God is not helplessly watching evil and trying to make the best of it. He is not just reacting to it wishing it could be different. He is not too weak to stop it or too wicked to stop it. He is sovereignly at work through it and that can be really hard to face.
But trust me, you will find far more hope in that truth than lesser versions of God. We have hope because God is at work through weakness. We have hope because God is at work through wickedness and we have hope because God will save His people.
