Episode Synopsis

Last week we saw that Jesus is the fulfillment of the Law and Prophets. Jesus built on that core concept with six exegeses of specific laws regarding murder, adultery, divorce, lying, reciprocal justice, and who our neighbor is that we are to love.Jesus turned first to murder, showing that the deeper heart concern in the Law is anger and hatred against others. We live in a world of broken relationships and relational pain. It’s hard to know how to navigate disagreements and arguments well, how to work toward reconciliation and restoration, extend forgiveness that might not ever be reciprocated, or deal with the pain of betrayal and abandonment. Our passage on Sunday will help us dig into the heart of relationships and how to move through anger to peace.
