It would be so much easier if everything in life fit neatly into the categories of black and white. But the truth is that much of life is lived in the grey area in-between, or as verse 1 puts it, the “doubtful things”. Our natural tendency is to create camps, declare the opposing view our enemy, and declare war on them. The simple truth is that God sees these gray area issues as “strong and weak” not as “good and bad”. So we must be willing to rise above petty differences and seek both our own maturity in Christ as well as the maturity of others. This miraculous mental transformation can only take place when Jesus is positioned where He alone belongs, as Lord. Jesus alone has the power to change people, to mature us, to grow us into His image. Have you trusted Jesus with your life? How about the life of those around you?
