You have been created by God with purpose. The primary way that you are going to know what God's will is for your life and how that will is to be carried out through you is by understanding the way God has gifted you spiritually. The only prerequisite to gettin a spiritual gift or gifts, is salvation. If you are in Christ, saved, a Christian, a believer, born again...then you have been spiritually gifted by God. The question is not if you have a gift or gifts, but what is it or are they? And the follow up question is, are you faithfully using your gift or gifts the way God intended? Humility is necessary for spiritual gifts because it brings the right understanding to us. When you realize that you are part of a body, then you can realize that your gift is not for you. Gifts are given by God, to you, for them. Is the church lifted or lame because of your gift and how you use or don't use it?
