What if you found it, that thing you are longing for?Our hearts and minds are in motion. We are always looking, always searching. Imagine for a moment what it might actually be like to lay our hands on it. To actually draw it close, that thing, that person, that experience we are longing to embrace.In our passage for this Sunday, John the Baptist asks Jesus the question we all ask, whether we realize it or not, “Are you the one, or should we be looking for someone else?” That’s the question our whole lives revolve around. Jesus of course answers, and the focus of the sermon Sunday is how we can live in light of his answer. It changes everything.St. Augustine famously wrote, “Lord, you have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless, until they find their rest in you.”I can’t wait to worship and rest together this Sunday.Pastor David
