Which is harder? Walking across red-hot coals with bare feet or doing what Jesus says? Listen to Jesus from his sermon on the plain in Luke 6:27-28,“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.”What!?! I will take the red-hot coals please. Jesus sounds impossible here. How could he even ask us to do this? How could we ever hope to live this way?Last week we saw in the sermon on the plain that experiencing deep abiding happiness despite our circumstances is possible. Jesus offers this to us as a gift. This week we will see that this way of life is not only possible, but powerful in ways that are hard to imagine. Jesus makes the impossible possible. With Jesus we can experience true love and learn to love others, even our enemies, with the love we have received.I can’t wait to worship together.Pastor David
