There is an old Irish proverb that says, "It is in the shelter of each other that people live." When have you been given life by someone's shelter and hospitality? How did it feel to receive that form of kindness and love? Can you imagine giving that gift to another person? This Sunday we are continuing our summer sermon series through the book of Ruth with the theme of Hospitality as Mission by looking at Ruth chapter 2. Last week saw that one of the first steps to showing hospitality to our neighbors this summer is through lament. This week we are going to see how we can show hospitality to our neighbors this summer through generosity, and specifically being generous in offering shelter and food to our neighbors. To prepare for Sunday, read, meditate, and pray through Ruth chapter 2 and notice how Boaz shows hospitality toward Ruth by being generous in offering shelter and food to her.
