Listen "Panel 4: Reconceptualizing Humanity’s Law"

Episode Synopsis

International human rights law, international humanitarian law and international criminal law are, broadly speaking, focused on the protection of the individual human being. Despite (or perhaps because of) this seemingly “universalist” logic, these areas of international law have come under sustained critiques that they speak the language and/or advance the vision of some peoples over others. This session will explore the major concerns with theory and practice of these areas of law as well as practical solutions to reconceptualise them.
