Listen "The Haunted Statue Nobody Could Keep | Real Ghost Stories CLASSIC"
Episode Synopsis
In the heart of London sits Watkins Books, the world’s oldest surviving occult bookshop. For more than a century, it has been a crossroads for mystics, seekers—and something unseen.
Among its most notorious artifacts was a small skeleton statue carved from oxbow wood in Thailand. Customers adored its craftsmanship… until they took it home. Each time, the new owner returned in fear. They claimed it walked on its own, made tapping noises across the floor, and even appeared outside their homes. One woman, terrified, brought it back in a sealed box, refusing a refund—just desperate to be rid of it.
And the statue isn’t the only haunting. Staff report books flying from shelves, vanishing into thin air, and the ghostly scent of cigar smoke where Mr. Watkins himself once sat. Even today, some say the founder still strolls through the shop.
This is the story of London’s most haunted bookshop—where every shelf holds more than words, and every relic may have a spirit attached.
