Fahad Siddiqui is on the #ReadingWithYourKids #Podcast to celebrate his publishing company Our Story. Fahad started Our Story to tell stories of important historical figures that are often left out of mainstream education, like Mansa Musa, the richest man in history from Mali. Fahid tells us these books aim to show kids positive representations of people from all over the world and what's possible. Jed and Fahid discussed how media focuses too much on negativity and how Our Story shares positive stories from the past. Fahad talked about a woman named Fatima al-Fihri who founded the first university in the world in the 9th century in Morocco. They hope these stories can inspire kids about what they can achieve regardless of gender or background.
