Listen "Words have power"
Episode Synopsis
Words have power. Use them correctly, and your story can change someone's life. Today's guest is a screenwriter and playwright who loves creating shows for young audiences. She adapted three of David Walliams' books for the stage, as well as Oliver Jeffers' The Incredible Book Eating Boy, all of which premiered at the Sydney Opera House and toured across Australia. She began her career in TV, writing for shows like Home and Away, Blinky Bill and was selected by Sesame Workshop as the writer for Elmo's tour of Australia. Not bad for someone, who when they arrived in Australia at aged nine, couldn't speak the language, had been through war and displacement. Yet, remarkably never lost hope and through the power of words has gone on to do incredible work.
