In this episode we read about God’s judgment against Korah and the other rebels. Some were swallowed up by the earth, some were burned with the fire from God, and 14,700 died from a plague that God sent. Our take away from all this devastation is that we should not covet the assignment God gives someone else. Be content with the place and assignment God has given us. Also we must watch who we hang around with. Negative people will take you down with them. Remember bad company corrupts good behavior (I Cor. 15:33). In Chapter 17 we see how God put an end to the strife in the camp by causing Aaron’s staff to bud showing that God chose Aaron as the High Priest. One thing we can learn from this Chapter is that if we hold our peace, the Lord will fight our battles. God will validate us!
