New understanding of molecular targets has helped transform invasive bladder cancer treatment, and guidelines now recommend chemotherapy-free immunotherapy as first-line treatment for metastatic bladder cancer (mBC), with additional studies investigating its role in neoadjuvant and adjuvant treatments for muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). These newer immunotherapy treatments, however, can cause unique, sometimes life-threatening, adverse events (AEs). This activity has been designed to review the latest treatment guidelines for mBC, explore emerging immunotherapy treatments in MIBC, and provide the mBC patient perspective on AEs seen with newer immunotherapy.
